Violet is a second year PhD student in Kristin Van Engen’s PsychLing Lab at Washington University in St. Louis. She previously studied with Julia Strand at Carleton College. She is interested in anything related to speech, but has recently focused on how humans use information provided by the talking face to facilitate speech recognition (audiovisual speech recognition) and listening effort.
